In healthcare, 21 percent of employees are concerned about their job security due to the adoption of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), according to a survey conducted by MindEdge.

AI in healthcare has grown exponentially over the past few years and now has niches in predicting infectious diseases, risk, patient outcomes, etc., but the growth of technology has also begun to worry healthcare workers who believe their jobs could be taken over by a machine. In the survey, which included responses of 1,000 Americans holding managerial positions or higher, researchers outlined implementation rates of robotics and AI, and the future of employees against automation.

Survey findings included:

• 28 percent of the healthcare industry have adopted robotics of other forms of advanced automation.
• 35 percent of managers in technology are concerned about their job security due to the adoption of robotics and automation.
• 21 percent of employees working in the healthcare industry are concerned about their job security due to the adoption of robotics and automation.
• 49 percent of managers working in technology say employees are lacking in soft skills, and stated 41 percent are lacking hard skills, in preparing for the adoption of robotics and automation.
• 50 percent of managers believe it is a shared responsibility of both employees and employers in making sure employees are trained to work in the future of robotics and automation.
