Forbes lists 10 CEOs ‘transforming healthcare in America’

Leaders of advocacy groups, health systems, children’s hospitals and suppliers made the list of 10 CEOs who are “transforming healthcare in America” published by Forbes and The CEO Forum magazine.

Former Cleveland Clinic president and CEO Toby Cosgrove, MD, was among those on the list, saying his system’s initiatives to spur change in the industry have included shifts in hospital design to introducing better, less revealing gowns for patients.

“The organization will continue to innovate and adapt to the changes taking place in healthcare,” he said. “Advancements have changed and will continue to change how we treat patients.”

The full list was:

  • Alan Bauman, MD, founder of restorative hair treatment company Bauman Medical
  • Toby Cosgrove, MD, president and CEO of Cleveland Clinic from 2004-2017
  • Nick Desai, MS, co-founder and CEO of house call app Heal
  • Sandra Fenwick, MPH, president and CEO of Boston Children’s Hospital
  • Graham Gardner, MD, MBA, co-founder and CEO of Kyruus
  • Jo Ann Jenkins, CEO of AARP
  • Kevin Lamb, founder and CEO wound care supplier Advanced Tissue
  • Stephen Klasko, president and CEO of Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health
  • Alan Miller, founder, CEO and chairman of Universal Health Services
  • Ron Williams, CEO of RW2 Enterprises and former CEO of Aetna
