A handful of healthcare companies have made it onto Newsweek’s “Most Loved Workplaces” list.
The list, produced in partnership with the Best Practice Institute, ranks 100 small, medium and large companies based on how employees feel about their companies. The Best Practice Institute is a leadership development center and think tank that developed the research underpinning the rankings in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh.
The list comes at a critical time for the healthcare industry, as the stressors and demands of the COVID-19 pandemic have led a significant portion of workers to consider leaving their careers after the pandemic.
In addition, healthcare workplaces have grappled with mandating COVID-19 vaccines to their employees, causing further setbacks in employment. Overall, the labor market is tight, with millions of Americans quitting their jobs and finding new roles over the past few months.
Despite these challenges, eight healthcare companies made the list. Here are the companies that were named and their overall rank out of 100:

- Cerner–32
- ChenMed–36
- Fresenius Medical Care–42
- Horizon Therapeutics Pharmaceuticals–38
- Eversana Pharmaceuticals–54
- Nomad Health Hospital and Health Care–72
- Incyte Pharmaceuticals–77
Newsweek ranked the companies based on several criteria, including management style, altruism, career-building, collaboration and transparency.
"A Most Loved Workplace is focused squarely on the degree to which employees have a positive feeling about their employer," said Louis Carter, CEO of the Best Practice Institute. In other words: "high emotional connection or love for" their place of employment.
