The FBI is currently investigating a reported data breach at the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia, according to a report by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The names, dates of births and genders of 40 patients were accessed during the breach and exposed on Twitter by an unauthorized party on Wednesday, Oct. 3. The hospital system said it's working to notify the patients about the incident. No Social Security or medical information is believed to have been compromised.
The report also stated the FBI is aware of the breach and working with the appropriate entities in its ongoing investigation. The hospital system is always cooperating with law enforcement.
