Telehealth saves $4.1M for Spectrum Health

The implementation of telehealth services has saved Spectrum Health, one of Michigan’s largest health systems, more than $4 million in three years.

Spectrum, a 12-hospital system based in Grand Rapids, developed its MedNow telehealth program in 2014. Since its implementation, the program has saved patients 11,253 trips to the emergency room and 944,023 miles in driving distance. Spectrum has completed 49,788 telehealth visits, including 30,775 for acute care and 19,033 specialty visits.
