XRHealth has developed a new platform that allows physicians and their patients to communicate directly using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). Patients use the network to control who has access to their data. Once granted access, healthcare providers can continuously monitor the patient and make treatment decisions as needed.
The company launched its new network during the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2019 in Maui, Hawaii.
“With the roll out of 5G throughout the globe, the new technology implications for the telehealth industry are enormous,” Eran Orr, CEO of XRHealth, said in a prepared statement. “Patients will be able to use high bandwidth technology like VR or AR anywhere they are located—whether in a rural or urban area. Healthcare will become much more affordable and accessible to anyone while innovation will be endless.”

Back in November, XRHealth and Sheba Medical Center (SMC) in Israel announced a new collaboration to make SMC the world’s first fully VR-based hospital.
