In addition to the new locations, Walmart Health is making changes to its health centers, including “changing the physical footprint and layout of the center so patients spend less time in the waiting room and more time with their doctor,” Carmouche wrote. Walmart Health is also integrating modern technology, including Epic’s electronic health record (EHR) system across all locations.

The new locations add to Walmart’s growing healthcare services and its position as a provider. More Americans are using outpatient services and alternative sites of care than traditional providers, giving Walmart Health more opportunity to capture those seeking care.

“With 90% of the U.S. population located within 10 miles of a Walmart, Walmart Health is in a unique position to provide quality, affordable health and wellness services where our neighbors already live and shop,” Carmouche said.

According to Walmart, the new state-of-the-art facilities will be approximately 5,750 square feet, located inside Walmart Supercenters, and will feature Walmart Health’s full suite of health services, including primary care, dental care, behavioral health, labs and X-ray, audiology and Walmart Health Virtual Care telehealth services.
